Hi
I was stationed at Marchington with REME 66/67. There were two vehicle depots there with the accomodation located between the depots. One depot was for construction plant and the other for soft skinned vehicles. Shortly after some major refurbishment it was announced that the whole camp would close. While this was being progressed De Gaulle kicked the Americans out of France and they relocated masses of bombs and ammo to what remained of RAF Fauld. They took over marchington camp for temp accomodation. I know that they moved trainloads of munitions day and night into Fauld. I left shortly after but I believe the munitions did not stay there very long.

If the person posting this message left their e-mail address, we inserted some random characters to prevent spammers from harvesting their address. Spammers do this with automated "bots" that constantly search the Web looking for e-mail addresses. Since you're a human being, not a bot, you can easily obtain the real address by removing the text that says "ThisisToPreventSpam-XYZ-RemoveThis." including the random number XYZ and the period at the end. For example, <whitten@ThisIsToPreventSpam-123-RemoveThis.despammed.com> would become <chris-(@)-interesting.com>.
